Reflexive Verbs Project

We recently finished a project using the Glogster interface to demonstrate our understanding of reflexive verbs. We made recordings of our own paragraph, mine being about my morning routine, using the reflexive verb format talked about in Glogster. We also used vocabulary and vocabulary formats from our most recent vocabulary section relating to the verbs. I would have rather taken a written test as opposed to doing a full project. Below is the Glogster I created for this project.

Grand Slam Descriptions

The purpose of this assignment is to learn and practice how to describe someone in Spanish. Learning how to describe people in Spanish is integral to the learning of the Spanish language as a whole as all people describe objects and other people in their day to day lives. I will be describing Nelson Cruz, Mrs.Hugghins favorite baseball player on the Rangers.

Nelson Cruz es de Monte Cristi en Dominican Republic. Èl es dominicano. Èl es un jugador de béisbol. Nelly tiene treinta y uno. Èl es castaño y alto. Èl es divertido y atlético y confiado. Nelson Cruz es el jugador de béisbol favorito de señora Hugghins.

Retrospective Recording Reflections

Completing the project was fairly simple. We began in class by customizing an avatar, mine having been created in my own image. We then went home over the weekend and used our cell or house phone to call in to the Voki number and record our personal greeting in Spanish. The project was then saved and turned in to Mrs. Hugghins via email.

While working on this project, I found myself a bit bored. It was entertaining to call in and be allowed to record my greeting aloud, but it seemed like the project ran a little slow, at least while at school. Having two days of instruction for a project of this nature seemed like a bit of overkill. The project itself, however, was an interesting change of pace from the average school and homework we, as students, are assigned.
